Currently, organizing a fair election should be the number one priority. Gradually this one step will guide everything toward liberal democracy, said former Cabinet Secretary Sha’dat Hussain. At a seminar arranged by Initiative for the Promotion of Liberal Democracy (IPLD), yesterday. Meanwhile, reports of a democracy-research was published at the event. It was conducted on total of 100 persons from judicial, journalism, business & politics backgrounds.A liberal democracy can open public job sectors to all. That way, prioritizing ruling party affiliation will subside. Country will be set on the rail of stability & harmony for next 30-40 years at least, he added.
Including, former Secretary Government’s Advisor M Hafiz Uddin Khan and other experts & researchers pointed that, the lack of the democratic mindset, culture & values among the people, are the main obstacles toward establishing true liberal democracy. All of them urged to promote these. They also suggested that, major political parties need to get rid of the idea of hereditary supremacy.
