9 year old Sumi Islam and 52 year old Amena Begum received prosthetic legs by the generous help of Soroptimist International, Dhanmondi Club. It financed for the two prosthetics and gave it to Moin Foundation. Director Sadia Moin of Moin Foundation received the money on a ceremony.Since 2005, Moin Foundation and ‘Jaipur Foot Limb’ have begun to undertake this noble program under their joint efforts. The program is currently taking place at a place given by the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation. The two institutions are both providing free of cost treatment of fitting the prosthetic legs.
Recently, they have been successful in creating prosthetic hands and they will soon arrange for fitting the prosthetic hands onto the victims.After the collapse of Rana Plaza building, ‘Jaipur Foot’ began helping those who were injured and since then, 2230 people have been aided by this organization with prosthetic legs.
