Structural & industrial developments were core reasons behind raising Bangladesh 7 rank-steps higher in the Global Capacity Index (GCI), informs private research institute Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD). But they blamed the implementation inefficiency in the ICT sector. It greatly held back the technological advancement despite of sufficient backing.
CPD mentioned these in a press conference regarding the World Economic Forum report. It was arranged at the CIRDAP Auditorium, on yesterday. CPD Research Director Dr. Khandaker Golam Moazzem also added that, remarkable developments in energy distribution & port conditions, decreasing of bribery & corruption, more accessible public services and simplifying bureaucratic complexities greatly aided the businesses. All these were highly required for accelerating the progresses in the current globalized world. Yet, Bangladesh needs to increase its technological dependency more, in both private & public sectors, he suggested.
