Slow Government Initiations Led to Price Hike of Rice: WB

    Two major floods washed way crops from countless farm-lands this year. But, government’s alternative initiations toward overcoming this situation came too slow. Such, indecisive attitude mostly aided to the price-hike of rice, concluded World Bank. WB Lead Economist Dr. Zahid Hussain presented this report, at their ‘Bangladesh Development Update’ publishing event. It was held at the WB’s Dhaka Office at Agargaon, on yesterday noon. WB Country Director Qimiao Fan and many others were present.
