Cox’s Bazar youths on demo for jobs

    DOT Desk: A group of local young people went on demonstration in front of Cox’s Bazar deputy commissioner’s office seeking administrative initiatives for securing their jobs, reports The New Age.
    Participants shout ‘want jobs, want rights’ slogans during the demonstration, which was organised by local NGOs.
    Ukhiya Odikar Bastabayan Parishad convener Safique Azad presided over a rally during the demonstration.
    Members of different local organisations also take part in the programme. Hope chief executive officer Abul Kasem said local young people were losing jobs as NGOs started recruiting Rohingya people and outsiders in jobs inside and around Rohingya refugee camps at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar.
    The protesters also handed over a petition to deputy commissioner Kamal Hossen urging the authorities to take urgent steps to create job and employment for local young people in district.
