Drama series for maternal, adolescent health awareness

    DOT Desk: Ujjiban Social and Behaviour Change Project of USAID has launched the drama series “Rodro Chayar Khela” directed by three prominent directors of the country namely-Salahuddin Lavlu, Giasuddin Selim and Amitabh Reza Chowdhury. It will be aired on RTV at 8 pm every Monday from today, reports The Daily Observer. The launching event was held on January 25. The series has been made to raise awareness about maternal, neonatal, child, adolescent health, family planning, tuberculosis and nutrition in Bangladesh. Rodro Chayar Khela is a slice-of-life drama centring around a family and their neighbours living in a small village called Modhupur. Rodro Chayar Khela takes the audience to a journey crowded with people forging stronger bonds against challenges of life.
    The series features Fazlur Rahman Babu, Farhana Mithu, Shilpi Sarkar Apu, Israt Nishat, ShyamolMaula, SharminAkhi, Himi, Jishan, UtsoJaman, Anwarul Huq, Rani Ahad, Hasnat Ripon and others. Giasuddin Selim is the lead writer along with Mesbah Uddin Sumon, Iffat Arefin Tonni, and Monirul Islam Rubel as co-writers.
    On the occasion of the launching event a Mini Marathon, for the general public was organised from National Museum, Shahbag, through Motsho Bhaban, finishing at Press Club. Representatives from government, USAID, Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, Ujjiban’s entertainment partners, non-government organizations, RTV, cast and crews of the drama series and other participants were expected to be present at the event. An award giving ceremony followed for the marathon winners along with a short screening of the drama series.
