One-sided election is neither good for democracy or for the ruling party

The by-election to the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will be held on February 28. The nomination forms will be scrutinized on February 2, while the candidates will have till February 9 to withdraw candidacy. The Upazila Parishad Election will also be held across the country in five phases. “The first phase of polls may take place on March 8 or 9.
In this regard, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder spoke to Daily Our Time and said that the nation is expecting the upcoming by-election to be competitive through participation of all parties. This participation is vital for democracy to move forward as otherwise one-sided election is neither good for democracy or for the ruling party.
