DOT Desk: Khulna City Corporation (KCC) is going to implement a project to develop quality livelihood of marginal people involving Taka 4.5 crore by next month, reports The Daily Observer.
The project includes giving monthly financial assistance and providing education support to the children of marginal people. The activities will continue at 30 wards of KCC in first phase.
Sources said the Bangladesh Government and UNDP of United Nations and DFID of United Kingdom jointly began works for the development of livelihood of the country’s 36 municipalities and 11 city corporations from last year.
On July 2018, the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) passed five-year term project titled ‘Development project for quality livelihood of marginal people’, which has been running from July 2018 and will continue till June 2023.
