DOT Desk: Motorcycle registrations across the country witnessed a significant rise in 2018 compared to that of 2017. A total of 395,603 motorcycles were registered in 2018 while the number was 326,550 in 2017, according to statistics provided by the Bangladesh Road Tran-sport Authority, reports The Financial Express.
The data also showed that the number of motorcycle registrations stood at 104,064 in Dhaka city during the period under review.
With the latest, a total of 244,6522 motorcycles had been registered with the BRTA until 2018 across the country, it added.
Several ride-sharing companies, like Pathao and Uber, launched their bike services respectively in 2016 and 2017 in Bangladesh, partly contributing to the rise of bike registrations in recent years.
