Anti-adulteration drive to be strengthened: DSCC Mayor

    Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon has that the anti-adulteration drive will be strengthened and it will continue until the malpractice is stopped. The mayor was addressing an event organised to inaugurate an anti-adulteration drive at Bailey Road yesterday, reports UNB. He also directed all concerned to help make the drive more effective. Recently, a week-long anti-adulteration drive was conducted in the capital city that ended on January 20. “We started the drive on January 14. Earlier, we only realised fine from various restaurants. People involved in food adulteration were given different jail terms. Besides, there was cancellation of trade license and sealing of different restaurants.”
    This time, the mayor warned, the fine will be increased alongside the extension of jail term.
    The mayor inspected Nababi Bhoj restaurant at Bailey Road and directed its owners and all concerned to maintain hygiene.
