Road mayhem kills 12, injures 35 in 8 districts

The deceased has been identified as Md Mamun. His body has been sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
In Moulvibazar, a woman was hit and killed by a brick-laden pickup van at New Line Road in Kulaura upazila.
The deceased has been identified as Loshomi, who worked at a nearby tea estate.

In Tangail, two people were killed and at least 30 others were injured in a road accident at Bangra area of Mymensingh Road in Kalihati upazila.
The accident occurred as a Prantik Paribahan bus flipped over after falling into a roadside ditch when its driver lost control over the steering around 12:30pm on Thursday.
One of the victims has been identified as Azharul Islam, a 50-year-old from Morikathgola in Muktagacha, Mymensingh. The other deceased passenger, a woman, could not be identified immediately.
Eight among the injured are in critical condition.
The police and the fire service collaborated to mount a joint rescue effort which led to the recovery of the survivors and the bodies of the deceased.
In Kaliakoir in Gazipur, a 14-year-old called Hazrat Omar was pushed off a bus part of the Azmeri Paribahan fleet. According to eyewitnesses, Omar got on the bus at the Chandra bus stop but the helper pushed him off. Omar was crushed under the bus and died en route to a local medical facility.
After protests erupted on the roads, police seized the bus but failed to detain the driver and the helper.
Three people canvassing for local elections on a motorcycle collided with a tree in Bogra, killing two instantly and gravely injuring the third. The deceased have been identified as Kaimul Islam Khan Suja and Fazlul Haque Khan Lebu. The survivor is Baker.
A 10-year-old boy has been crushed under a truck carrying bricks in Manikganj. On Thursday afternoon, a truck from SMB Brickfield in Madhurchar, Singair, ran over Rabbi Mia. Police have detained the driver and seized the truck.
Two people were killed and four more injured when a CNG autorickshaw collided with a bus in Laksam, Comilla. The deceased have been identified as Idris Mia and Md Alam. Both vehicles are in police custody while the injured are being treated at a local medical facility.
In Kushtia, an eight-year-old called Shuvo and a 10-year-old called Hridoy were ran over my makeshift trucks. One of the drivers was detained but the other managed to get away.
