Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq has said the process of seizing the properties of the families of war criminals has been finalized, reports The Dhaka Tribune.
“The work to seize their [war criminals’ families’] properties started last year,” he said at a press conference held at Akhaura, in Brahmanbaria, yesterday. “Now it is being finalized.”
Replying to a question, the law minister said: “There is still time for BNP to join the parliament. I think BNP will have the common sense to join. If they do not, the nation will witness the consequences to BNP because of their decision.”
Anisul declined to comment on Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB)’s report regarding the December 30 polls. “I cannot comment on the matter until I receive the report.”
Earlier, the law minister attended a reception held at Akhaura. From there, he will go to Kasba.
