    WHY DID BNP REJECT POLLS?
On January 1, just two days after the December 30 polls, the BNP leaders who were elected in the 11th parliamentary polls said they would not take oath as they have already rejected the results.
They alleged various irregularities including ballot stuffing and ouster of opposition polling agents from voting centres.
The party rather demands a re-election under a non-partisan interim administration, saying it has been proved that a free and fair election is not possible under a partisan government.
Awami League-led Grand Alliance won in 288 seats while BNP-led Alliance won in eight seats.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on January 13 said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would hold a fresh dialogue with all political parties who had joined talks at the Gono Bhaban before the December 30 polls.
He said the PM would send letters to Oikyafront, Juktafront, 14-party alliance, Jatiya Party and others inviting them to take part in the talks.
