Khalequzzaman speaks to DOT :
Apparel workers were supposed to get 5% increment against their wages since 2013 and the sum of money would be adjusted duly, according a 2018 circular. But the decision was withdrawn four days later.
Nobody claimed responsibility for this and for which, there was no action taken against anybody. The workers were deprived of their fair pay ever since 2013 in line with the circular.
Despite they got a new pay scale, there are still deprived of fair wage. We will give a full picture of the matter in a day or two.
The government never implements any demand after taking it into account until a chaotic situation breaks out. The government does not take care of whether any casualties take place in protests. This is the lack of responsibility of the government and its failure to the apparel factory owners.
