DOT Desk: Jatiya Kabita Parishad will hold its annual National Poetry Festival at Dhaka University’s Central Library on February 1 and 2.The two-day festival will feature poetry recitation, musical soiree, seminars and discussions, reports The Daily Observer.
The first National Poetry Festival was held in 1987.
We organised the event to protest against the then military dictator Hussain Muhammad Ershad.
This year’s festival will feature poems by local and foreign poets,’ said Muhammad Samad.
Those interested to participate in the festival will have to register themselves by submitting their poems, along with their CV and recent photograph. Besides, Dhaka-based participants will have to pay a fee of Tk 300, while participants from outside of Dhaka are required to pay Tk 200. Submissions will be accepted at Jatiya Kabita Parishad’s office at 2nd floor of TSC from 3:00pm to 8:00pm every day.
