BSS: Rajshahi University (RU) has adopted an initiative of installing murals of four national leaders- Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, AHM Kamaruzzaman and Captain Monsur Ali- on the campus as soon as possible.
“We have taken the initiative as recognition of their laudable and heroic contribution to the nation and its independence,” said Prof Ananda Kumar Saha, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of RU, while talking to BSS here yesterday.
“We want to depict and highlight their contribution before members of the new generation,” he mentioned.
Prof Saha says design formulation work has already been completed. The work on the Taka 1.27-crore mural will start very soon, he added.
The 50-year plan has been adopted for
overall development of education and infrastructures.
This is the ever biggest development programme in the university’s history after the country’s independence.
