Anu Muhammad speaks to DOT :
It is not possible for Awami League maintain zero tolerance against corruption, ever. This is because the party has been in power for the last 10 years, when irregularities took place in every sector including bank. It exceeded the level of graft that it put in its earlier term. A number of loan defaulters are not elected as lawmakers and their power has been expanded. Those responsible for the stock market collapse are yet to be tried. They have been made more powerful than before, instead. The masterminds of corruption in development are also made rather powerful. Awami Leaguie retained power pledging continuation of it. So, how can it impose zero tolerance against anomalies? Preventing corruption is a must to introduce good governance in the country. Extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and murders need to be stopped as well. Documents of all development projects need to be made public. The government should not hush up the allegations of graft, putting those responsible to justice, something not possible for the ruling party to execute. I feel there is be no good governance in the country.
Unless any miracle happens, there is no possibility to any big change to take place since the names behind different crimes are much more powerful now. They cannot change themselves all on a sudden. Even there is no sign supporting the chance. Hence, how can Awami League stop graft and ensure good governance?
