Dr. Mahmud Hasan speaks to DOT :
There are a lot of new faces in this cabinet. I believe they will work diligently with renewed enthusiasm and zeal. As a medical officer, I am happy with how this new cabinet turned out to be. The entire nation is eager to see them work. If their actions are honest, they’ll bring blessings for the people.
I’m confident that bringing in so many new faces, removing a lot of veterans, and not taking in anyone from the alliance would have no ill effects. This is a sort of omen. Obaidul Quader has been telling us all that there will be many new faces in the cabinet. I don’t’ believe this would cause any conflict within the alliance.
The Awami League government now has many new challenges. The most complex among these is maintaining the flow of economic development. The underprivileged have to be given priority; their lives have to be improved. Income inequality must be resolved. The government’s big challenge in the health sector is universal health care, which is a part of the plan of reaching sustainable development within 2030 as per the UN resolution we signed. Introducing universal healthcare will definitely be our biggest challenge.
