    Iktedar Ahmed speaks to DOT
Dr. Kamal Hossain, Gono Forum President on Saturday said that the two lawmakers-elect of his party may take oath and join the 11th parliament. Dr. Hossain expressed that it will not create any problem with its alliance partner BNP, though BNP has already decided not to join the parliament. Dr Kamal said their two MPs can play a positive role in parliament after taking the oath. However, on the following day, Gono Forum said that their MP-elects will only take oath if BNP MP-elects also decide to take oath as members of the parliament.
In this regard, Iktedar Ahmed, a former judge said that if these two lawmakers-elect of Gono Forum join the 11th parliament without BNP MP-elects, it would hamper the goal and objectives of Jatiya Oikyafront. This is said because they contested the 11th parliamentary elections with BNP’s electoral symbol, ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ and BNP decided not to join the parliament.
