First film of 2019 stars Joya Ahsan

    DOT Desk: Joya Ahsan would feature in the first film of 2019, reports The Daily Observer. The film however would not be a homemade one. It is an Indian-Bangla film named “Bisharjan”. The film directed by Kaushik Ganguly was released in India in 2017. For the film Joya bagged Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards in India. It would be released at Balaka Cineworld, Shyamoli Cinema, Star Cineplex and Modhumita Cinema Hall.
    Owner of Modhumita Cinema Hall, Iftekharuddin Naushad would be importing the film with his house Inn-Win Enterprise.
    About releasing a foreign film as the first Bangla film, Iftekharuddin Naushad said, “None has completed production of a film in our country as of now. So it is better to release at least an imported-Bangla language film than to release nothing at all.” The film would be imported under the SAFTA Pact. Thus in exchange India would import Bangladeshi production “Koto Swapna, Koto Asha” directed by Wakil Ahmed. Porimoni and Bappi have acted in the film released in 2017.
    Naushad, who is also the president of Film Exhibitors’ Association would also be importing the sequel to Bisharjan- Bijoya. Bijoya is slated to be released this year. It has also been directed by Kaushik Ganguly and stars Joya Ahsan.
