All must stand against violence on women

A mother of four children has been gang raped in Noakhali. The victim, 40, told reporters at a local hospital that local Awami League supporters engaged in an altercation with her on the way to cast her ballot at Pankhar Bazar Government Primary School on Sunday morning.
Hours later, she embraced the ill-fate on the premises of her house the same night. She claimed that the incident was a result of exchanging heated words the Awami League supporters, something the latter refuted. Her husband said a band of up to 12 people including Mosharraf, Salahuddin and Sohel broke open the door of their house and beat him, fastening him and one of his children. Then they raped his wife in turns, and they also beat her badly.
This is a heinous and barbaric act. We always say violence on women must be stopped. This is such a shame for a country. The elected candidate has to keep things of an area under control and maintain those. They must keep an eye so no untoward occurs in his or her electoral area. If they fail to do so, it will become a matter of concern.
The government, the state and the MPs-elect have to step forward to stop such brutalities. All the rapists and their patrons, regardless of their political identity, have to be given arrested and then, given exemplary punishment. All of us have to be united to be vocal against violence against women.
