Goyeshwar attack: 3 AL men held

    Police have detained three leaders of Awami League’s associate wings over Tuesday’s attack on BNP leader Goyeshwar Chandra Roy during an election rally in Dhaka.
    They were picked up in a drive carried out on a tip-off on Wednesday night, reported Banglanews, quoting South Keraniganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shahjahan.
    The detainees are Md Sabuj, Secretary for Co-Publicity & Publication Affairs of South Keraniganj thana unit Swecchasebak League, Suvadda union unit Jubo League member Md Mamun and Secretary for Co-Health Affairs of South Keraniganj thana unit Jubo League Sharif Md Falan.
    One Hridoy, as a plaintiff, filed a case over the attack on Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, said the OC, revealing that a remand plea was also filed with the court after the detainees were produced.

    BNP Standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, who is contesting the 11th national elections from Dhaka-3, survived the attack during an campaign in front of Porichorja Hospital in Keraniganj on Tuesday evening.
