Chandrima Police has detained a top drug dealer with 1000 pieces yaba tablets from Asam Colony area of Rajshahi city on Sunday evening, reports The Daily Observer.
The peddler is identified as Ripon, 40, a resident of Assam Colony of the city.
Locals said Ripon is a drug dealer. He has been associated with drug dealing for a long time. He has been supplying yaba, heroin and hemp to drug addicts for a long time.
Chandrima Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Humayun Kabir said Ripon was nabbed by Police SI Raju, SI Masud Parvez, SI Zahidul Islam, SI Rowshan and a fellow force. They conducted a drive and detained him and seized 1000 pieces yaba tablets from his house.
A case has been filed against Ripon under the Narcotics Control Act.
