Most complaints filed at EC baseless

Dr Zeenat Huda Wahid speaks to DOT  :
Most of the allegations placed by different political parties, at the Election Commission (EC) are groundless. The parties will definitely make allegations centring polls. The Commission has to verify the complaints and take measures duly. There are two types of complaints: real and made-up. Politicians are now making both kinds of complaints. Both the major parties are complaining, but BNP seem to be making more. It is very tough to verify the authenticity of an allegation currently. The Commission initially urged all, regardless of their political ideology and thoughts, to remain decent. Every political leader and activist is also responsible to do so. If the situation turns violent like that of Noakhali where three people died, the EC can take strict measure. Taking legal action is a must in such cases, I guess. The EC will decide how tough it will act in such an incident. No such an abnormal incident took place any place in the country that can impact the election slated for December 30. Incidents that are occurring in the country are very common in any developing nation like ours. Many also demand the Army to be deployed. I don’t any such reason supporting their demand. Candidates are carrying out their polls campaigns as their own.
