The Daily Star special arrangement ‘Election Talks 2018’ is going on with the topic of upcoming national elections, contemporary politics and incident-accidents regarding the election and its interpretation and analysis. Ali Imam Majumder attended the ceremony and talked about his concerns for a fair election. The program was moderated by the daily star’s planning editor, Shakhawat Liton.
Former Cabinet Secretary Ali Imam Majumder, agreeing on economic and infrastructure development, refrained from adhering to the development of good governance in the context of the ruling party Awami League, which has highlighted the development of the country in the last ten years in their election manifesto. According to him, in the last decade, a lack of goodadministration and governance has only increased. In his opinion Government, Police and security organizations one sided grouping makes it difficult for a fair election.
Ali Imam Majumdar does not think that the government was successful at keeping the administration free from the ruling party’s influence in the last two terms. He also said development and democracy are not contradictory to each other. If the government wants development for the country it should first secure the democracy. A proper democracy is the key to a developed country.
