Cast your vote peacefully: Fakhrul on election trail in Cumilla

    BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is reportedly travelling to Cumilla for campaigning in the Chandina and Shoagazi races.
    The BNP secretary general left the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan at 10 am on Wednesday on his way to Cumilla where he is scheduled to hold rallies, according to a report by BDNews.
    Fakhrul’s convoy includes his car, two security vehicles as well as the cars of accompanying journalists. A police pickup vehicle led the convoy from Sayedabad to Kachpur Bridge before leaving the convoy after making the crossing.
    The BNP secretary general will campaign for Redwan Ahmed of Cumilla-7 and the imprisoned ‘paddy sheaf’ candidate Monirul Huq of the Cumilla-10 constituency. Last week, Fakhrul led election campaigns in Thakurgaon-1 and Bagura-6 constituencies, where he is also contesting polls.
    Fakhrul also urged everyone to cast their vote peacefully in the upcoming elecletion on December 30, claiming that he is optimistic that BNP will come to power in a landslide victory.
    The Jatiya Oikya Front, led by Dr Kamal Hossain, formally kicked off their election campaign on Dec 13 after a visit to the shrines of Shah Jalal and Shah Poran.
