Anwar Hossain Foundation on cards

    Family members and friends of recently demised internationally renowned photographer Anwar Hossain are going to set up a foundation after his name to preserve his works,reports The New Age. The foundation will help promote and preserve Anwar Hossain’s photographs and other works, said Hossain’s family members at a press conference on Saturday held at the seminar room of National Art Gallery.
    The conference was attended by Hossain’s sons Akash Hossain and Meghdut Hossain, Hossain’s younger brother Ali Hossain Babu,
    Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh general secretary Belayet Hossain Mamun and others.
    ‘We are happy to declare that we are going to set up a foundation after the name of Anwar
    Hossain, whose contributions to photography in the country is immense. The foundation will promote and preserve his works,’ said Ali Hossain Babu, who will head the trustee board of the foundation.
    ‘Freedom fighter Anwar Hossain played a significant role to popularise photography in the country and to make it of an international standard. The foundation will collect and preserve Hossain’s works,’ said Liaquat Ali Lucky.
    Anwar Hossain passed away on December 1.
