32 cos receive ICMAB Best Corporate Award

Thirty-two organisations on Saturday received ICMAB Best Corporate Award 2017 under 13 categories, reports The New Age.
Reviewing the performances of the companies based on their annual reports, the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh selected the organisations.
Finance minister AMA Muhith handed over the awards at an event held at Hotel Intercontinental in the city. The 13 categories are public sector commercial bank, private commercial bank (Islamic), private commercial bank (general), non-bank financial institution, insurance, pharmaceuticals, power, multinational company, cement, textile and other manufacturing, commercial and service sectors.
Janata Bank Limited was awarded under the public commercial bank category. Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited became first under private commercial bank (Islamic) category followed by Islami Bank Limited Bangladesh and Export Import Bank of Bangladesh. BRAC Bank was awarded first prize followed by Eastern Bank Ltd and The City Bank under private commercial bank (general) category while IDLC Finance Ltd, Lanka Bangla Finance and Delta BRAC Housing Finance were awarded under the category of non-bank financial institution.
Green Delta Insurance became first under general insurance category followed by Reliance Insurance and Pioneer Insurance.
Envoy Textile, Matin Spinning Mills and Rahim Textile Mills ltd were awarded under textile sector category while Square Pharmaceuticals, Beximco Pharmaceuticals and Reneta Pharmaceuticals got awards under Pharmaceuticals category.
Summit Power won first prize under power category followed by Ashuganj Power Station Company Ltd and United Power Generation Company.
British American Tobacco and Berger Paints were awarded under multinational category while Heidelberg Cement, Premier Cement and MI Cement were awarded under cement category.
In other manufacturing category, RAK Ceramics, Olympic Industries and PRAN received ICMAB awards while in other commercial category Padma Oil got award and other service category Dockyard and Engineering Works won award.
