Bangladesh Television or in short BTV has had a number of popular dramas in the 80s and 90s, Reports The Daily Observcer. One of them was Abdullah-al-Mamun’s drama “Aynay Bandhur Mukh”. It was aired thirty-five years ago. It gained attention for its depiction of wayward youth in the aftermath of the Liberation War.
It was also adapted into stage play. The drama will be aired again on December 28 at 8.30pm on BTV. But this time it has been revised with new viewpoints and new cast. The key characters of the drama were Rabeya and her husband. These roles were played by Ferdousi Mazumder and Abdullah-al-Mamun. This time the couple will be played by Ashna Habib Bhabna and Imon. Other cast members include Shatabdi Wadud, Rafikullah Selim, Shah Alam Dulal, Tofa Hossain, Ainun Putul and more. It will be directed by Abu Touhid.
About reinventing the drama Harun-ur-Rashid , director general of BTV said that his team wants to revive old but appreciated dramas of BTV. He wants to present these to the new generation.
Ferdousi Mazumder about the new drama thinks that such attempts should be undertaken more and more. The dramas of Abdullah-al-Mamun are always resourceful and they also have dramatic effects both of which keep the attention of viewers on hold. That is why Mamun�s dramas according to her, gained popularity.
