BNP has announced the list of its final candidates for around 206 seats for the next parliamentary elections, with the party’s election symbol ‘Paddy Sheaf”. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general of BNP, disclosed the list at a media briefing at the party chief’s Gulshan office yesterday evening, reports UNB.
“We’re announcing the names of candidates for 206 seats. We’ll disclose the names 94 candidates of the 20-party, Oikyafront and that of our undecided ones tomorrow (Saturday),” he said.
Earlier in the day, Awami League announced the list of its contestants for 240 constituencies and set aside 60 seats for its alliance partners.
The 11th general election of the country will be held on December 30.
Some 3,065 nomination papers of 39 political parties and independent candidates were submitted to the EC and of them, 786 papers were cancelled by the returning officers across the country.
