Bangladesh elected as member of ICC Bureau

    Bangladesh has been elected as a member of the Bureau of the Assembly of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
    In the 17th assembly of States parties to the Rome Statute, held on December 5 in the Hague, Bangladesh was elected unanimously for next two years (2019-20), according to a foreign ministry press release received on December 6, reports Banglanews.

    The Bureau of the Assembly – ICC – CPI consists of 21 countries among 123 member countries. For 2019, Bangladesh, South Korea and Japan as Asia-Pacific Ocean Region members while Bangladesh, South Korea and Palestine will perform their duties for 2020.

    Bangladesh joined ICC in 2010 and for the first time, the country is going to work as member the Bureau of the ICC.
