BNP was confirm about candidacy scrapping

Tanjib-ul Alam speaks to DOT :
From the beginning, BNP was sure about its leaders’ candidature getting rejected by the Election Comm-ission. The hopefuls had so many drawbacks. Sensing that its leaders may disqualify, the party gave its tickets to 800 aspirants from 300 constituencies.
Their activities prove that they were well aware of the fact that their candidates will not be given go ahead by the Commission. The reason for the rejections was clearly detailed by the authorities concerned. The Commission will take next course of action about those who challenged its decision.
If the doubt is about the signature put on affidavits, it can be sorted out. But the other cancellations were caused by loan default or on relevant ground. Good results will not come by appealing against the rejections. IT is substantiated that law was violated in these cases and its a legal process.
The returning officers (ROs) do not willingly cancel one’s candidacy as they are not biased. An RO cannot do anything if a candidate is found to a loan defaulter. They also do not label one a loan defaulter. Rather reports in this regard comes from the central bank. The ROs are complying the order passed by the apex court over the matter.
Whosoever is named on the lost of loan defaulters, issued by Bangladesh Bank, will not have the eligibility to run a polls race. A law has also set the rule. If someone does not belong to the list, as per law, he or she is not a loan defaulter, regardless of his/her political identity.
