Hasina bids adieu to cabinet

    Sayeed Muhammad of DOT :  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said goodbye to the cabinet yesterday as she attended at the last regular meeting with her cabinet colleagues.
    “Our last cabinet meeting is today (Monday). After that, there will be no more cabinet meetings. All will go back to respective parliamentary constituencies for polls campaigning,” she was quoted as saying.
    According to Banglanews, she went on saying: “We will not meet again. The people know, I mean, they know who they will vote for.
    “A new parliament will be formed afterwards, and a fresh cabinet will be constituted. It cannot be said now who will be in power then. Keep fit, everyone. Thanks to all,” she concluded.
    Several ministers quoted her as saying the comments, after the meeting was over.
    Hasina chaired the meeting at her office for the last time in this current regime of the ruling party, yesterday afternoon.
    Mohammad Shafiul Alam, after the meeting, told the media that the meeting was the 35th of the year and the 202nd of the incumbent government.
    Some 10 points were on the agenda at the meeting, which include the formation of a cabinet committee to implement the recommendations for the 9th wage board for journalists.
    The meeting also gave go-ahead to amend four laws and an ordinance.
