Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal on Thursday urged to the students and young generation to positively represent the tourism sector of Bangladesh all across the world through social media like facebook and twitter.
He said in many countries tourism is considered as a major source of economy. If we want to develop our tourism, we must develop our Information and Communication Technology’s (ICT) sector and uses it for promoting our tourism to attract the foreign tourist.He came up with this remark at a round table discussion titled ‘tourism and the digital transformation’ held at Dr Abdullah Faruk Auditorium of Business studies faculty of Dhaka University (DU).
DU Tourism and Hospitality Management department organized the program to mark the international tourism day.
Motioning the shortage of experts the minister said, ‘We don’t have enough skilled manpower in tourism sector due to lack of proper training and facilities which hampers this sector.
But our present government is working for turn Bangladesh as a attractive tourism based country.
Presided by DU tourism and hospitality department chairman Dr. Mohammad Badruzzaman Bhuiyan , Parliamentary Standing Committee chairman Muhammad Faruk Khan (Retd.) MP,among others addressed the function.
