Desk Report: Passengers were in rush at Gudaraghat, adjacent to Gulshan spot of Hatirjheel lake, to commute by water taxi after purchasing tickets. They, however, were returning as there was a signboard there saying: Hatirjheel water taxi service has been suspended till October 4, reports Daily Asian Age.
It was known from the ticket counter that the temporary suspension was for maintenance and repair of the water vessels.
The authorities have regretted for the inconvenience. A maintenance worker of the project Mohammad Jahir said: “Strong surge prompted the water taxis has eroded some spots of the lake. Piling works will be conducted at those points.
