Khaleda’s treatment: Hearing deferred again

Kabir Humayun: The High Court yesterday once again deferred for a week the hearing on a writ petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia seeking its order on the government to send her to specialised United Hospital for treatment.
The bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Ahmed Sohel passed the order, reports The Daily Star.
Khaleda’s lawyer Barrister Kayser Kamal earlier in the day sought time for a week from the bench for hearing the petition.
A medical board has been formed for treatment of the BNP chief, said the lawyer.
“We are waiting for the recommendation of the medical board,” he said.
On Sunday, the government formed medical board recommended Khaleda Zia be admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
The board was formed after Khaleda on September 5 refused to appear before a court for hearing, saying she was ill.
