PM lays foundation stone of Super Specialized Hospital

    M Humayun Kabir: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday laid foundation stone of Super Specialized Hospital for critical patients at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka.
    ‘Centre-based’ medical services will be provided at the 13-storey hospital, the ever first in Bangladesh, reports Jagonews24.com.
    Centre for Specialised Austism and Maternal and Child Care, Emergency Medical Care Centre, Hepatobiliary and Gastroenterology Centre, Cardio and Cerebrovascular Centre, Kidney Centre, and Respiratory Medicine Centre will be included here.
    Several gardens named as sunken garden, rooftop garden and other environment-friendly facilities will be available around the hospital.
    The hospital, supervised and designed by South Korea, will be housed on the northern side of the BSMMU on 3.4 acres of land at a cost of Tk 13.66 billion.
    Of the project cost, South Korea will lend Tk 10.47 billion at a low interest rate of 0.01 percent with 40 years of repayment time, including 15 years’ grace period.
