Riyad hopes Bangladeshis will come support the team at Dubai

Desk Report: Bangladesh cricket team are currently at Dubai where they are preparing for the Asia Cup. The team will train at the ICC Academy and ahead of the training session, all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad said that the team was hoping that the Bangladeshi crowd in Dubai will inspire and help them get good results, reports The Daily Star.
Many Bangladeshis pursue work in Dubai and they hardly ever have the opportunity to see the Tigers’ in the flesh. As the Asia Cup is an important tournament, the players will feel more confident with a strong crowd to support them.
“Hopefully we are going to get a really good crowd here because plenty of Bangladeshis live here, and we hope they will come out and support us and we hope to deliver some good results for them,” he said while talking to the media.
The local conditions in Dubai is going to be a challenge for the players and it would be important to adapt from the get go.
“At the moment it is quite humid, but as professional players we have to be able to adapt to conditions and embrace the situation that comes our way and we have to take it further on a positive note,” Riyad said.
Tigers play their first match of the tournament against Sri Lanka on September 15 and Riyad was hopeful that their preparation for the tournament will come good.
“I think we have got some good past memories against Sri Lanka from a few months back, but Sri Lanka is a very good team, and they are playing very good cricket and we have to be at our best to beat them. We have been preparing quite well back at home. So hopefully we can deliver,” he concluded.
