A day of feeling down

Today (3rd september) is the day of feeling down. The morning started with the sad news of war heroine Rama Chowdhury. After a little while, more death news surfaced as engineer Jahirul and two others died in a road accident in Savar. I did not know the gentleman (Jahirul), but his demise caused us to feel a sheer condolence. Jahirul is the father of Prashun’s classmate Hamim. We just rushed to his Lalmatia residence. Even Prashun, too, cancelled taking an exam to get there. Soon after coming to work, I heard that Mostaq Ahmed, former president of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity, passed away. Mostaq bhai used to hover around across the country during the days of turmoil in the 90s. I am utterly aggrieved hearing the series of news of death. Praying for the departed souls.
