Desk Report: A schoolgirl has been missing for more than eight days in Sadar upazila of Lakshmipur district, reports Daily Observer. Missing Israt Jahan Maisha, 14, is a student of Class X at Charshahi High School. She is also daughter of Abdul Ohid, a resident of Charshahi area. Earlier, on August 25, a local young man, Md Mamun, 20, had reportedly abducted Israt when she went out of home in response to a natural call. Later, victim’s father lodged a case with Chandraganj Police Station accusing three, including Mamun, in this connection, officer in-charge Abul Kalam Azad said.
Police arrested two accused in the case but could not nab prime suspect Mamun, the OC added.
