9 dead from road crashes in Gaibandha, Netrokona

    Abrar Hussain: At least nine people have been killed in separate road accidents in Gaibandha and Netrokona districts yesterday.
    Five people, including four of a family, died in a head-on collision between a bus and tractor in Gaibandha, reports UNB.
    Meanwhile, four passengers were killed in a collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Netrokona, reported local news agencies.
    In Gaibandha, 10 others were injured in the accident that took place on Gaibandha-Palashbari road in Palashbari upazila.
    Four of the deceased were identified as Entazul Islam, his sister Kakoli Begum, his wife Afroza Begum, their daughter Hena Begum of Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha, according to Polashbari Police Station OC Mostafizur Rahman.
    The accident took place when the Dhaka-bound bus of Darbar Paribahan collided head-on with the tractor around 12:15 am, leaving four people dead on the spot and 10 others injured.
    Later, one of the injured people died on the way to hospital. The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital.
    The bodies were sent to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
    In Netrokona, the accident took place at Maska Kathaltola area in Kendua upazila on Saturday noon. The deceased could not be identified immediately.
    The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH).
