3 missing as trawler capsizes in Jamuna

    Kabir Humayun: At least three people, including two children, went missing after a trawler carrying 100 passengers capsized in the Jamuna river.
    The identities of missing people could not be known immediately, reports The Daily Star.
    The trawler capsized around 10am in the river after hitting a sand-laden cargo near Alokdia Char adjacent to Aricha ghat.
    Earlier in the morning, the trawler left Kazirhat area of Pabna’s Bera upazila for Aricha ghat in Manikganj district, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibalaya Police Station Habib Ullah Sarkar.
    The OC added that all the passengers, except the three, managed to swim ashore.
    Divers of Fire Service and Civil Defence were conducting search and rescue operations.
