Desk Report: Ahead of Eid, students of Manikganj Government Women’s College organised a mehndi festival at Manikganj town for underprivileged children, reports New Age.
Thirty four students of the college organised the festival under the banner of Dishari, a voluntary organisation of students working for the welfare of slum children.
Underprivileged children living at Bewtha slum of Manikganj town participated in the festival.
‘We organised the festival because we really wanted to share joy of Eid with the underprivileged children living in the slum. We should try to do whatever we can to help these children’, Sham Meem Jopa, a student of the college, told New Age.
‘It’s not every day that a festival for slum children is held. I want to thank the organisers for arranging the festival’, said Zakia, who lives at Bewtha slum.
