Kabir Humayun: Law Minister Annisul Huq yesterday hoped that the courts dealing with the cases filed over the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and August 21 grenade attack will deliver its verdicts in September.
Annisul Huq came up with the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a programme demanding quick trial of the August 21 grenade attack and to bring the killers of Bangabandhu back to the country.
August 21 Bangladesh, an organisation for the victims and the martyrs of August 21 grenade attack, organised the discussion meeting at Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka.
The law minister was hopeful that once the judgment is delivered the killers of Bangabandhu and people behind the grenade attack will be identified.
The government is already holding talks with the governments of both USA and Canada to bring back the absconding killers of Bangabandhu, Lt Col (retd) Rashed Choudhury and Lt Col (retd) Noor Chowdhury, respectively, to the country, Annisul said.
There is some progress about bringing both of them back to the country, he said.
