Sayeed Muhammad: If you are not getting the promised internet speed and quality service from your local internet provider then you can file a complaint with the telecom regulator, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
The BTRC in a notice posted on Facebook yesterday said that it will deal with such complaints giving them utmost importance, reports The Daily Star.
Users have the right to enjoy the promised bandwidth and quality service from internet service providers, it added.
Under Bangladesh Telecommunication Act 2001, the telecom regulator is committed to ensure proper internet speed and quality internet service for the customers, according to the notice.
Internet users can lodge their complaint on http:/www.btrc.gov.bd/complaint-management. They can also dial 100 of the BTRC cell to file their complaints.
According to the BTRC, users can use third-party tools like Ookla, Open Signal, Speed Test Meter and many others to check their current internet speed.
