Trump may deport killer Rashed Chy US daily

Kabir Humayun: US President Donald Trump may deport Bangabandhu’s killer Rashed Chowdhury, says a report published on Monday in The Daily Caller, a conservative American news and opinion website based in Washington, DC, reports the Daily Sun.
AM Rashed Chowdhury, who was convicted in 1998 for killing Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and nearly his entire family, has since found asylum in the United States, says the report.
“The Trump administration will likely deport Chowdhury,” The Daily Caller News Foundation claimed in its report quoting Bangladeshi sources.
When approached, no official in Dhaka wanted to make comment on the report that President Donald Trump “appears likely to deport” a Bangladeshi military officer who was part of a notorious assassination team that murdered the country’s revered founder and nearly his entire family in 1975.
The Press Wing of Bangladesh Embassy in Washington shared the report with journalists based in Dhaka.
Rashed Chowdhury was part of an assassination team that carried out a brutal, early dawn raid on August 15, 1975, on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s residence.
The conviction was upheld by the Bangladesh Supreme Court in 2009 and 12 officers were condemned to death.
Six of the killers were executed a year later, but the others, including Chowdhury, remained fugitives overseas.
Chowdhury has been living in the United States since 1996 and applied for asylum. International law enforcement informed the US government it was housing a political assassin in 2009.
Chowdhury has lived in Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta and in various California cities, according to knowledgeable Bangladeshi sources seeking anonymity.
