Desk Report: Prices of rawhide, skins have fallen by half in Natore before the Eid-ul-Azha this year, reports Asian Age. At present, a cow’s rawhide is being sold at Tk 1,000, which was sold for Tk 2,000 a month ago. On the other hand, the current price of goat skin is Tk 45 to Tk 50, which was sold for Tk 80 to Tk 85 before Eid-ul-Fitr. Natore is the second largest leather market in Bangladesh.This year, the price of leather has fallen due to foreign purchasers by passing their hands. Skin traders are worried about buying leather in the upcoming Eid season, due to tannery owners unable to pay them. They also fear the unprecedented price decrease in the business.
