Kabir Humayun: Police have detained a bus driver and his assistant of Bhai-Bon Paribahan in connection with a death of schoolboy Tanvir Ahmed Jion in a road accident.
Kotowali Police OC Mukhtarul Alam said they have arrested bus driver Inshan Ali Shanu, 45, and his assistant Badshah Mia, 40, from the Rangpur Central Bus Terminal area on Sunday night.
“Inshan was licensed to drive small vehicles, but was using the license to drive a bus,” he said, adding, “The bus did not have a fitness certificate either.”
A case will be filed against the driver, his assistant and the owner of the bus, he added.
Collectorate School and College tenth grade student Tanvir Ahmed Jion was struck and killed by a Bhai-Bon Paribahan bus on Sunday morning.
