Desk Report: Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL), one of the state-owned distribution authorities, has disconnected a total of 363 illegal gas connections including 21 industries, 17 commercials, six captive and one CNG gas line in different drives during the month of July, reports Asian Age.
TGTDCL, in association with the Intelligence Executive Magistrate of the mobile court, shuttered illegal gas connections all over Dhaka and adjoining areas.
Besides, they have been snapped 314 gas connections for arrears and isolated 34.44 km illegal gas connection pipelines, added a press statement of the company. According to the company press release, gas connections of New Parvin Hotel, Mama-Vaghina hotel, Café Kohinoor Resturant of Mohakhali area, a nameless hotel of CNB Colony was disconnected.
The vigilance team also disconnected gas connection of four commercial hotel and finned Tk 30,000 on 29th July. On July 30, mobile court disconnected the gas line of M/S Jumbo Mosquito Coil of Narayanganj and red handed two workers from the factory premises.
On March 21, Divisional Vigilance Team has snapped the gas line of M/S EH Fabrics Ltd of Tongi area and M/S Hornbill Apparels Ltd of Konabari.
The gas connections of M/S Iko Washing Ltd and M/S Nisha Apparels Ltd of Gazipur area were snapped on March 8 for using illegal gas boosters, and for using a house line booster illegally.
Tongi area’s M/S Symtex Ltd faced the same consequence on March 21. The gas line of M/S Ismail Print Factory of Jinjira area was disconnected on March 28 due to the use of an illegal compressor.
In other special drive during this month, the executive magistrate of Gulshan, Savar, Jayde-bpur and Narayanganj fined different users a total of Tk 3.91 lakh for using illegal gas lines.
