Hossen Sohel: Sale of advance train tickets for August 20 for the Eid-ul-Azha resumed, as it remained suspended for technical glitch at the server at Kamalapur and Chattogram Railway Stations from 10:30am yesterday.
Hundreds of ticket-seekers thronged Kamalapur Railway Station from early morning, reports Daily Sun.
The sale of advance train tickets began from August 8 and will end on August 12. The advance ticket for August 21 will be available on August 12.
Besides, the return tickets for the journey of August 24 will be available on August 15 and for August 25 on August 16, August 26 on August 17, August 27 on August 18 and for August 28 on August 19.
The sale of tickets began at 8 am and each passenger will be able to buy a maximum of four tickets.
Besides, nine pairs of special trains will run on different routes on the occasion of Eid. There will be 1402 coaches with 229 locomotives.
Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Nirapatta Bahini (RNB), Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were deployed at all the big stations for preventing ticket scalping while the deputy commissioners concerned will conduct mobile courts.
Meanwhile, plying of Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka Moitree Train will remain suspended from on August 21, 22 and the Bandhan express on August 23.
